Olympic Sports

Olympic swimmer Amy Van Dyken-Rouen, who was paralyzed from the waist down after severing her spinal cord in an ATV accident in June, has posted an inspirational Instagram video of her first steps with the help of a walker and bionic exoskeleton device:

The six-time Olympic gold medalist captioned the video above, "Here it is...I'm WALKING!!! #onestepatatime #itcouldhappen" and shared the following photo with, "Who's excited to be walking with an exoskeleton? This chick! #dreamscometrue #happygirl":

Van Dyken-Rouen was released from a Colorado hospital last week, saying she felt "1,000 times better" than when she was first injured.
